Its coming to our area and guess whose property they will be stopping past?  Yup, you guessed.  Helpful Investing’s latest rehab project at 5735 Bugler Street in Capitol Heights, MD will be on the schedule. We are very happy to share our project with everyone this Saturday June 25th.  Valarie Jacobs better known as the “Real Estate Physician” contacted us to give the details about the tour, and of  course we were more than happy to jump on board.  No pun intended!

Here is a brief overview:

To view 4-7 homes in need of rehabbing. One to show students what to look for, what to do and pricing. 3 or more to allow them to evaluate and present what they would do and the costs. If available, a recently finished house that can show current rehab tastes/trends and what is selling in that market. If available, a house that is currently being rehabbed. Houses can be in various price ranges from low income to wealth zones. We show them how to run the numbers to determine if they should keep it as a rental or fix it up to sell it so a variety is best.

Shannon was attacked while transferring buses on his way home from barber school. According to police reports, several men approached him near Baltimore and Charles Street, surrounded him, taking his cell phone, umbrella and baseball cap. When he yelled at them, one of the suspects stabbed him, and the group ran. The knife pierced Dudley’s heart, leaving him in critical condition. Shannon’s heart stopped for 24 minutes on the operating table, and although he made it through, he now suffers from brain damage.
Shannon suffers from brain damage and is bound to a wheel chair, struggles with daily activities, and is cared for by his mother and grandmother.

“This is the least we can do to help Shannon and his family,” said Craig. “My employees and I share the same dreams that Shannon had as this attack happened just as he was completing barber school. He finally stepped out into the world ready to start his career, only to be cut down by these individuals.”
